Otto Vases by Luca Nichetto
Luca Nichetto always impresses me when he works with glass. His venetian spirit emerges and he gifts us with some delicate and fascinating designs. Now it’s the turn of Otto vase made with Venini. Otto means eight, in italian, to underline the eight layers of glass blown in the Murano’s furnaces to create this range of decorative vases. They come in a limited serie, by the moment, and will be sold only within Venini certified stores, but they will re-edited with other colours for serial production. I live in Venice area, and I could visit some furnace where glass is blown. It’s an enchanted, charming world, made of ancient words and man’s fatigue, so when I see products like Nichetto’s I can’t help but thinking about the wisdom of glass-blowing masters and how much they put their hearth into this mass of fused material.
